How to Spend Your Free Time in Dubrovnik
Not sure how to make the most of those 3 hours? Here are a few things we always recommend to our guests:
Walk the City Walls
If there’s one thing you shouldn’t skip – it’s this. Yes, there are a lot of steps, and yes, it can be warm, but the views from the top are incredible. It takes around 1.5 hours if you do the full loop, but even a shorter section is worth it.
Take the Cable Car to Mount Srđ
Want a postcard-perfect view of Dubrovnik from above? Take the cable car up to Mount Srđ. There's also a small café at the top, perfect for a drink with a view.
Visit a Museum or Two
If you’re into history, pop into the Franciscan Monastery (with one of the oldest pharmacies in Europe) or the War Photo Limited gallery for something a bit different.
Where to Eat – Our Local Picks
After the walking tour, you’ll probably be ready for a bite. Dubrovnik has tons of places to eat, but here are a few we recommend if you're short on time and want something tasty and authentic:
Barba – A small spot with amazing seafood sandwiches (try the octopus one!)
Taj Mahal – Not Indian, but Bosnian. Their ćevapi are legendary
Pizzeria Castro – Great for a quick pizza right off the main street
Buža Bar – This one’s more for drinks than food, but it’s built into the cliffs and has views straight over the sea. A must-see, even just for a photo
A Few Quick Tips
Wear comfortable shoes – Dubrovnik’s streets are all stone and stairs
Don’t try to do it all – Choose one or two things you really want to do and enjoy them fully
Take note of the meeting time and spot – Your driver will be waiting at the same location where you got off
